SETTING UP THE METER MOWING CONDITIONING, WIND-ROWING, HARVESTING ETC...
- Install the meter into the tractor.
- Fit the magnet to a non driven wheel on the cutting machine, the sensor is mounted ensuring the magnet passes opposite it each time the wheel is turned. (see manual)
- Fit a magnet on to a pivot point on the cutting machine, to detect when the machine is not cutting, the sensor is mounted opposite the magnet. This sensor is used to detect when the machine is not cutting (HOLD mode). (see manual)
- Enter the cutting WIDTH into the meter.
- Enter the DISTANCE travelled by the cutting machine per sensed wheel revolution.
- Enter the DATE and TIME into the meter.
CUTTING YOUR PADDOCK....
- Get to the paddock ready for cutting.
- RESET the job in the meter. (This will ensure that the last cutting job has been cleared)
- START the job in the meter. (Can be any job that is not used eg: XX.XX.XX as the date)
- Job is now started. The meter is in RUN mode when cutting (machine down in crop) and is in HOLD
mode (cutter is lifted above the crop, pivot sensor meets magnet). Begin cutting and at any time you can easily see
- how much land has been cut
- rate of cutting
- time taken to cut
- distance
- speed etc..
- Job Complete !

SETUP Menu: This allows the meter to be configured to suit your drilling operation.
- Screen 1:
- CONTRAST, allows display clarity to be adjusted.
- DEBOUNCE. allows meter to monitor extremly slow colter gearbox input shafts, typically set to 10%.
- RUN / HOLD, the meter will go into HOLD mode as defined by the setting here. For drill colter shaft monitoring, use the “SPEEDO” set up for run/hold setting. When the drill gearbox input shaft stops, speed will switch to zero at the same time as the meter will go into hold mode.
- WHEEL SIZE, is the distance travelled by the drill each time the drill gearbox input shaft turns one rev. This number is used to work out area, distance and drilling speed.
- WIDTH, is the drilling width of the drill. This number is used to work out area drilled.
- Screen 2:
- DATE, set date here.
- SUPPORT, enter a HELP DESK phone number here of who to ring for Area Meter support.
- UNIT ID. Allows the meter to be named. This name is displayed every time the unit starts up. Allows easy identification of a Meter.
- REPORT DATA. Allows a Short or Long Job report format to be printed out.
- TIME, Set time here.
- Screen 3:
- SEED STATE. If a low seed alarm sensor is fitted to the drill, adjust this setting to allow the meter to decide if the seed sensor has activated or not. Some sensors may switch high with low seed, some switch low with low seed. This feature is optional and can be added to the meter at any time. (Optional*)
- SHAFT'S 1-3 RPM. Optional extra used to sound an alarm if shaft 1-3 slows below a set rpm. Set alarm RPM level here, if the RPM of the shaft drops below the set level during drilling the alarm sounds. (Note**)
- BALE COUNTER. Setting for Hay Baling operations. Sets the time delay between triggering of the hay bale sensor. Not required for drilling setup. (Note**)
BACK TO LIST
- Screen 4:
- TRAM TYPE. Used on the Tramlining model Meters. Defines traming mode. Not required for standard drilling operations. (Note**)
- TRAM SWATH. Used on the Tramlining Model Meters. Used to set when a tramling event will occur. Not required for drilling operations. (Note**)

- SEED WEIGHT. Used when calculating the seed weight per hectare. This unit is measured in grams and is the amount of seed planted per coulter shaft rotation. This number is worked out by:
- Filling the drill with seed
- Turn the coulter shaft 1 complete rev and catch the seed output by the colter shaft.
- Weigh the seed.
- Enter the seed weight into this menu setting. The weight entered here is gram units.
(Optional*)
- SEED COMPARE. The user can enter a seed planted weight. Once that amount of seed has been planted, the alarm will sound for 5 seconds. The Seed Compare Weight typically would match how much seed has been put into the drill during a refill, use for seed refilling indication. The weight entered here is in 0.1kg units. (Optional*)
- Screen 5:
- MULTI WIDTH. Multi Width can be used to detect and adjust accordingly the working width as needed with Dual Mower and spray boom set ups. This Setting when enabled can be used to turn the Multi width feature on or off. (Note **)
- POLARITY. Is a setting that defines the active state of a Multi width sensors. Define if a width sensor is in RUN or HOLD according to sense voltage being high or low. (Note **)
- WIDTH 1. Enter the multi width 1 size.
- WIDTH 2. Enter the multi width 2 size.
- WIDTH 3. Enter the multi width 3 size. (Note **)
